Monrovia, Liberia - The Government of Sweden has approved approximately US$400,000 (Four Hundred Thousand United States Dollars), as financing for the completion of Liberia’s National Development Plan as well as the 100-days deliverables of President Joseph Nyumah Boakai.
The disclosure was made, when Mr. Urban Sjostrom, Ambassador of Sweden to Liberia, met with the Senior Management Team of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning. Hon. Boima S. Kamara, Minister of Finance led the team to the meeting in Monrovia.
According to Amb. Sjostrom, the Four Hundred Thousand United States Dollars will be used to complete the development and implementation of the country’s next five years Development Plan.
The National Development Plan represents the Liberian government’s development agenda for the next five (5) years. The five-year plan will analyze the country's objectives and priorities in relations to all sectors and in response to identifying national needs.

The Government of Sweden has been a partner to Liberia by providing financing that strengthens capacity in public administration, rule of law, accountability and respect for human rights, participation of women in political processes and support in the health sector amongst others.
