Be Accountable and robust for Effective Service Delivery, Say Hon. Nettey

Buchanan, Grand Bassa - Comptrollers and Accountants across Ministries and Agencies have been urged to be accountable and robust for effective service delivery.
 
Liberia’s Comptroller and Accountant General, Hon. Elwood T. Nettey made the urge at the opening of a three -day Financial Reporting and Refresher Workshop for government Comptrollers and Accountants in the Port city of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County from October 15-18 2024.
 
According to Hon. Nettey, financial reporting constitutes an integral function of the Comptroller & Accountant General’s Department, and urged Comptrollers and Accountants to be accountable and robust for effective service delivery during all transaction processes.
 
The Refresher workshop was geared towards improving efficiency among Comptrollers and Accountants for more effective Service Delivery across all Ministries and Agencies.
 
Hon. Nettey stated that effective service delivery on time is one of the critical requirements that needs attention. “There is a need for us to be more effective during service delivery” he added.
 
The workshop was organized by the Comptroller and Accountant General Department with full support from the World Bank, EU, Sida and the African Development Bank Group.
 
He said Comptrollers and Accountants are people who have the responsibility to discharge, oversee, advise, conduct or carry out financial activities. He pointed out that the most important task for them is reporting.
 
‘’ Our most important task is reporting, and our law is intended to have you and myself to be in full compliance as comptrollers”, he explained.
 
The three-day workshop was attended by Liberia’s Comptrollers and Accountant General, Hon. Elwood T. Nettey, deputy CAG, Hon. Prince Lie, Comptrollers and Accountants from Ministries and Agencies among other core of technicians.
