Monrovia, Liberia - Liberia’s Finance and Development Planning Minister has admonished employees at the MFDP to work harder to build a new MFDP.
Speaking during the taking over ceremony held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, Minister Kamara told the employees of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning to put the government back to work.
He said ''Let's put the Government back to work.”
He called on employees to make their offices a work place of Honesty, Transparency and Integrity.
According to Minister Kamara, hard work should return and it should come back better at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning. ''Hard work should come back and come back better”, he said.
Minister Kamara said it is important for employees to work harder in order to expand the economy, because when the economy is expanded, salaries of government employees will be restored.
He warned against any form of precondition in order to sign checks at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.
“There should be no precondition in any manner in terms of signing people’s checks here at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning. The job we have is to serve our country, so do your best and let us build a new MDFP”, he stated.
The government chief fiscal expert also commended international partners for their support to Liberia in difficult and challenging times.
