It has come to the attention of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning that a Facebook page titled, “Hon. Boima S. Kamara” created on March 29, 2024 claiming to be the “personal page” of the Honorable Minister of Finance and Development Planning and that “ it is not covering the MFDP”.
The Ministry emphatically states that said page being attributed to the Minister of Finance is bogus and fictitious.Furthermore, the Ministry emphasizes that scammers who criminally created this page intend to defraud unsuspecting members of the public. With such criminal intent, the criminals in their evil-minded scheme have announced on this fake page a non-existent fraudulently orchestrated grant scheme. The fraudsters using this fake page announced, “we are excited to announce a game-changing opportunity for all entrepreneurs and SMEs in the country. We have launched a grant program aimed at guiding the innovation, growth and development that will grow our economy.”
The fraudsters who had earlier announced that the page would not be covering the Ministry of Finance unwittingly and in contradiction to their own pronouncement attempted to swindle unsuspecting folks on this fake page by announcing an MFDP grant (which doesn’t even exist, in the first place).
The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning categorically denies the authenticity of such so-called grants for entrepreneurs and SMEs, and also emphatically condemns fraudsters masquerading as the Hon. Minister of Finance.
Meanwhile, the Ministry herein further clarifies that the Minister’s only authentic Facebook page is: Boima S. Kamara without an “Hon.” title.
The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning hereby advises the general public to exercise maximum alertness and verify every information emanating from the Ministry by contacting the appropriate authorities at the Ministry or verifying information on the Ministry’s official website (
