Monrovia, Liberia - Madam Synleseh Dahn-Koung, wife of Vice President Jeremiah Koung has urged the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning Professional Women Association to choose what matters most at a particular time in order to enhance growth and productivity.
She made the assertion at the occasion of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning Professional Women Association Mother’s Day Program held on Wednesday, May 16, 2024 at the Ministry, under the theme Balancing Professional Life and Motherhood.
According to her, professional women across various units and departments within the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning first major goal should be centered around supporting their spouses through a big support system.
She mentioned as being essential, making time a priority, being proactive, praying early, concentration , as well as, planning to achieve a better result.
“In order to get results, make separate time for your work and kids, get help and find creative ways to share your responsibility’’ she explained. .
The country’s second lady also asserted that some characteristics of a professional woman are: competence, knowledge, integrity, respect, emotional intelligence, appropriateness and confidence. She noted that professional women are people who earn their own income from specific knowledge, experience or career.
Madam Koung admonished the women of the Finance Ministry that if professional women in general work hard at our professional jobs and forget about motherly responsibilities at home, we will surely miss out and not benefit from our maternal labor. She said, all mothers need to own her responsibility to maintain what was built during early child upbringing.
The occasion was graced by the Deputy Minister for Budget, Hon. Tanneh G. Brunson, Assistant Ministers Sarah McGill Mulbah, Hon. Alice Williams , Hon. Paul T. Lamin and attended by the women of the Ministry of Finance under the auspices of the Professional Women Association of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.
