Monrovia, Liberia - Acting Minister for Finance and Development Planning Anthony G. Myers emphasized the importance of an inclusive, consultative, and community-driven approach in advancing Liberia's National Development Planning process.
Speaking at a one-day National Sector Consultations held at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Cabinet Complex on Friday, July 19, 2024, the Acting Minister highlighted that the consultations will center on the six "moonshots" and transformational drivers, pivotal components of the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID) which runs from 2024 to 2029.

Minister Myers outlined the forthcoming development agendas for Liberia's 15 counties, emphasizing the need for cost-effective public sector development and an investment plan aligned with the medium-term strategy.

He stressed that sector engagement teams will prioritize technical inputs, which will be validated and integrated into the advisory framework.

"Throughout the planning process, we are committed to engaging stakeholders at district and national levels to ensure their contributions shape the ARREST agenda," Minister Myers affirmed.
Representatives from the United Nations Development Program and the Government of Sweden expressed gratitude to the Liberian Government, specifically the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, for their inclusive approach in formulating the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
They commended the collaborative efforts and partnership that have facilitated meaningful sector consultations.

The consultations underscore a concerted effort to foster broad-based participation and ensure a unified vision for Liberia's future development goals under the ARREST Agenda.
