The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning informs the public that purported information circulating on social media about a 57.2M government grant with GEN to entrepreneurs is false and misleading.
The Ministry clarifies that at no time such a program was held or an announcement made to that effect by the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.
The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning urged the public to be mindful about fake news circulating on social media regarding government programs.
However, the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning is warning people to desist from creating “fake Facebook” pages, something which is causing embarrassment for the government.
The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning encourages the public to contact the Communications & External Affairs Unit on the 3rdFloor RM 55, for clarity any information seen on the official social media pages of the ministry.
