Ribbon CuttingMonrovia, Liberia - Liberia’s Finance and Development Planning Minister on Tuesday was joined by the Head of the European Union delegation in Liberia to officially cut the ribbon, dedicating the new National Authorizing Office (NAO) on the grounds of the Executive Mansion on Capitol Hill.

Minister Amara Konneh and Ambassador Atillio Pacifici expressed heartfelt admiration to the TUMARSI, Inc., a Liberian-owned company that engineered the project for the good work done. Minister Konneh lauded the contractor for going beyond the scope of the agreement to present a well-designed state-of-the art building, which he described as “second to none.”

The Liberian Fiscal Manager says: “I am moved personally by the support of the European Union for providing financial assistance to the NAO project which is a boost to the Government of Liberia.’’ He also lauded the EU or its many supports to Liberia’s development priorities and also for extending its assistance to the Government and people of Liberia in several other areas in Liberia.

For his part, Ambassador Pacifici noted that with the level of work done by a Liberian-owned construction company, it shows that Liberians are capable of handling much bigger contract and even do better if they are given the adequate space and opportunity.

In his farewell message, Mr. Alvin Attah, outgoing Deputy NAO told his successor, Jerry Tamba Taylor to be vigilant and take on the challenge of the task that lies ahead of him. He said with diligence, commitment and confidence, coupled with hard work and teamwork, Jerry will succeed.

Receiving the challenge, the new NAO Boss Taylor thanked his predecessor of his commitment to service. Taylor promised to deliver, adding, “This will be the effort of everyone; it is not me alone, it is is the joint effort of every one – from the least man or woman to those at the top,” Taylor said.
