Rebuilding Liberia Broken System is Government Major Concern says Finance Minister Featured

DSC 9597Monrovia, Liberia - Finance and Development Planning Minister Amara Konneh maintains rebuilding the broken system in all sectors remains government major concern.


Speaking at a one day workshop on the United States Government Portfolio Performance Review, Minister Konneh acknowledged the invaluable services of the US Government’s assistance, budget and projects to Liberia which he said are aligned appropriately with the Agenda for Transformation, (AFT) and Economic Stabilization and Recovery Plan (ESRP).

 

The Fiscal Manager disclosed that building capacity in government budget and financial system will improved Liberia’s financial sectors, particularly in various ministries and agencies. Minister Konneh continued that creating an enable environment for teachers training, improved all systems and qualified teachers is one of government main focuses.

Minister Konneh was speaking at the one-day United States Government portfolio performance review workshop held at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, Wednesday. He used the occasion to admonish the participants and officials to continue providing the technical assistances that are needed to help improved Liberia.

According to the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning Release, the Liberian Finance Minister said early participation is good in making sure Liberia’s democratic transaction is secure for “our generation and forward match of Liberia.” He lauded all participants and international partners’ for their level of support given to Liberia.

For her part, the US Ambassador to Liberia, Mrs. Deborah Malac reassured her Government’s unwavering commitment to support the Agenda for Transformation and Economic Stabilization and Recovery Plans for Liberia.

The workshop was attended by officials from the Ministry of Justice, National Election Commission, Liberia National Police and the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.
