Monrovia, Liberia - The attention of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) is drawn to erroneous reports being circulated in certain quarters that the Ministry has disrespected the Honourable Supreme Court of Liberia by ignoring its orders to lift the recent access restriction placed on the accounts of the Liberia National Lotteries (LNL) by the ministry.

On January 22, 2018 you entrusted me with the responsibility of leading the effort to build a capable state that is united in purpose and filled with hope and prosperity. This ushered in the first generational change in national leadership through the popular vote since the introduction of universal suffrage in 1951. I will remain eternally grateful for this sacred trust and will, to the best of my ability and with the help of God, strive to change the narrative on Liberia and bring about a more stable, prosperous, and democratic state.

Monrovia, Liberia  – The European Union has provided initial funding of EUR 6 million (USD 6.87 m) to help Liberia pave the road connection from Sanniquelle to Loguato with asphalt. The EU regional envelope for West Africa also allocated EUR 14.2 million to this project. The European Investment Bank (EIB) is expected to contribute EUR 17 million.

GMWMonrovia, Liberia - After a series of reviews and a National Validation of the PAPD by the Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), His Excellency President George Manneh Weah will on Saturday, October 27, 2018 launch the National Development Plan of the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development to be held at the United Methodist Hall in Ganta City, Nimba County under the Theme: “Unveiling of an Integrated five years Medium-Term National Development Plan towards Accelerated, Inclusive and Sustainable Development”.

I wish to extend my sincere thanks to the President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E. George Manneh Weah, the Vice President, H.E. Jewel Howard-Taylor, and the Cabinet, the Liberian National Legislature, and the Judiciary for your guidance and motivation in driving the formulation of the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development (PAPD). I am also grateful to other heads of the institution, autonomous agencies, county superintendents and various stakeholders for your support in organizing the technical sessions and mobilizing participants to contribute to the formulation of this document.

Monrovia, Liberia - The Liberian Delegation to the 2018 IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings held in Bali, Indonesia returns to Liberia after scoring big successes at the Meetings. The Delegation was headed by the Minister of Finance and Development Planning and comprised the Governor of the Central Bank of Liberia, the Minister of Public Works, the President of the Liberia Bank for Development and Investment and the Commissioner of the Liberia Maritime Authority, as well as respective deputies and technicians.
