The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde says, one of the major interventions carryout by the Liberian government in response to economy recovery and becoming middle income state by year 2030, is the creation of the Liberia Revenue Authority.

On behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, Finance and Development Planning Minister, Amara Konneh has extoled the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director, Christine Lagarde and her entourage for a prosperous two days visit to Liberia.

Finance and Development Planning Minister Amara Konneh says government remains focus on an aggressive implementation of its road agenda which seeks to connect major cities and capitals, while working to reconstruct dilapidated urban roads across Monrovia and the rural areas.

Ms. Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), will visit Liberia from September 10-11, 2015, to engage with policymakers and other representatives of the Liberian society.

Liberia’s Finance and Development Planning Minister Amara Konneh is urging critics of the government to provide the various tangibles that they believed have cumulated into the basis for which they are saying that the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf led government has not achieved anything since its inception.

President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has signed into law the National Budget in the amount of US$622,743,420 (six hundred twenty two million seven hundred forty three thousand four hundred and twenty United States Dollars) for Fiscal Year 2015/2016. 

Finance and Development Planning Minister Amara Konneh on behalf of the Liberian Government, today signed a grant agreement for twenty five million United States Dollars with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), for the construction of municipal water system in the cities of Robertsport, Voinjama and Sanniquellie.
