Monrovia, Liberia - Liberia's Finance and Development Planning Minister Hon. Samuel D.Tweah, Jr says World Bank continuous support towards Liberia Development Agenda, the Pro Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development is remarkable.
He made the comments during a meeting held with Mr. Sanjay Srivastava World Bank Practice Manager Environment, Natural Resources and Blue Economy Global Practice, Mr. Halil Dundar World Bank Practice Manager,Education Global Practice, Africa West and Central Region and The bank Country Manager Mr. Khwima Nthara held at his office today.
He named the banks support to the education and fisheries sector as a big boost to the economic and human capacity growth of Liberia.
“Because the bank is impress with progress been made by the Government in the Fishery sector there is a possibility sourcing of additional financing of 20 M through one of its partners. “He added.
He further said that the Liberia Sustainable Management of Fisheries project continued to receive tremendous support that will lead to the expansion of the Montserrado fishing pier which will enhance the livelihood and income generation for the Government and targeted beneficiaries.
Minister Tweah said early childhood project is on course but more support is needed to improve other areas in Education.
