The UK Ambassador Reinforces Commitment to Liberia’s Development During Courtesy Call with Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Hon. Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan.

Monrovia, Liberia -  The United Kingdom's Ambassador to Liberia, Neil Bradley, has met with the Honorable Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, to reaffirm the UK’s ongoing support for Liberia's development initiatives.
During their courtesy meeting on Tuesday at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning in Monrovia, Ambassador Bradley highlighted the UK's commitment to enhancing Liberia’s governance and development framework.
 
 “The UK’s funding enhances the government of Liberia’s contract with its people, putting government in the lead,” Ambassador Bradley stated, emphasizing that the UK’s contributions align with the Liberian government’s ARREST agenda and will support the upcoming National Development Plan.
 
Ambassador Bradley detailed the UK’s investments in key sectors, including agriculture, infrastructure, education, sanitation, and tourism, as well as the ongoing empowerment of local communities through funding to Non-Governmental Organizations.
 
In response, Minister Ngafuan expressed gratitude for the UK’s contributions to Liberia’s transformation. 
 
“The UK’s support has been vital in our transition from war to recovery and development,” he remarked.
 
 He specifically noted the impact of programs such as the Chevening Scholarship on Liberian citizens. 
 
Minister Ngafuan committed to unlocking the economy's potential by focusing on critical sectors like energy, agriculture, and infrastructure.
 
He acknowledged the challenges faced by the Ministry, particularly in meeting ambitious targets such as the timely completion of the National Development Plan and the preparation of the FY 2025 national budget for legislative review. 
 
The meeting underscored the strong partnership between the UK and Liberia, reflecting a shared commitment to building a prosperous future for the Liberian people.
