Monrovia, Liberia – The Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Hon. Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan leads the Government of Liberia’s delegation to the 2025 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, which is scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C. from April 21 to 26, 2025.
The high-powered delegation, which includes Hon. Henry Saamoi, Governor of the Central Bank of Liberia; Hon. Roland L. Giddings, Minister of Public Works; Dr. Jarso M. Jallah, Minister of Education, Hon. Dephue Zuo, Deputy Minister for Economic Management, is expected to hold series of multilateral and bilateral discussions aimed at galvanising and consolidating support for Liberia’s Development Agenda, the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
While in Washington, Finance Minister Ngafuan will hold separate meetings with World Bank Vice President, Ousman Diagana, IMF Executive Director ,Mr. Ouattara Wautabouna, the IMF Director for Africa the Region, Adebe Selassie, U.S. State Department Bureaus of African and Economic Affairs, the International Finance Corporation Managerial team, and the Finance Ministers of Brazil, Kuwait, among others.
On the sidelines of the meetings and upon an invitation from the African Development Bank (AfDB), Hon Ngafuan will chair the meeting of the Standing Committee of the AFDB Board of Governors on Conditions of Service for Elected Officers.
Finance Minister Ngafuan and Delegation will also hold follow-up meetings with the Kuwait Fund and other Arab lenders aimed at securing financing for the pavement of the Gbarnga Mendikorma Road.
An MFDP press release quotes Minister Ngafuan as saying, "Our overarching aim for the Spring Meeting is to engage our partners and consolidate support for the implementation of the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID)."
