Monrovia, Liberia - The Deputy Minister for Budget and Development Planning at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, Hon. Tanneh G. Brunson, has emphasized the importance of gathering useful information from all Ministries, Agencies, and Commissions to positively influence President Joseph Nyuma Boakai's 100 days' deliverables plan nationwide.
This plan is designed to prioritize Strong Performance, Reporting, Monitoring, Evaluation, and learning to enhance efficiency and ensure value for money.
Deputy Minister for Budget and Development Planning Brunson made the statement at a one-day orientation, finalization and costing of interventions of President Boakai 100 days’ action plan on February 29, 2024.
She said: “The focus is now on swiftly completing and resubmitting the draft to the National Legislature early next week within the specified timeframe for deliverables. The goal is to expedite the successful execution of these objectives.”
Deputy Minister Brunson pointed out that teams across Ministries, Agencies, and Commissions will meticulously develop costs and incorporate every activity into the National budget once approved by the National Legislature.
She noted that the primary aim is to serve the people of Liberia by taking actions that directly impact lives and contribute to the country's transformation.
Speaking earlier, Foday Couch Bayoh Jr., the Senior Policy Advisor for Budget and Development Planning, admonished participants at the occasion to take the costing and finalization of the 100 days’ deliverables seriously, as it would set the stage for launching the ARREST Agenda of President Joseph N. Boakai on a positive footing.
For his part, Hon. Anthony Myers, Liberia's Deputy Minister for Fiscal Affairs, commended all entities involved for their dedication, hard work, and commitment since President Boakai announced his 100 days' deliverables plan.
Hon. Myers stressed the necessity for collaborative analysis and effort among participating agencies to effectively implement the President's plan nationwide.
“We need to conclude on the final validation process by looking at every cost and line items to determine the conclusion of all costs associated with the plan”, Hon. Myers said.
The joint meeting on orientation, finalization, and costing of interventions was attended by key figures including Hon. Tanneh G. Brunson, Hon. Anthony Myers, representatives from MFDP, as well as various Ministries, Agencies, and Commissions.
