Monrovia, Liberia - Ministry Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) places Mr. Massayan Sorsor on Compulsory Administrative Leave and Forwards Him to the Office of the Ombudsman for Investigation.

In a release issued on the night of Saturday, March 22, 2025, when Senior Management of the MFDP was made aware of a disturbing video involving the assault of an ederly citizen by Mr. Massayan Sorsor, a civil servant serving as a Director within the Ministry, the Ministry informed the public that it had requested its Human Resources and Legal Units to review the situation and to provide options to address the situation.

Both units have accordingly advised that the relevant section of the Code of Conduct that relates to Mr. Sorsor’s action is Section 4.3, which states: "All public officials and employees of government shall exhibit good conduct at all times, both at work and off-duty…"

The Senior Management has therefore endorsed the recommendation of the units to forward the case involving Mr. Massayan Sorsor to the Office of the Ombudsman, which is authorised by law to investigate allegation of bridges of the Code of Conduct and determine appropriate sanctions and penalties, where necessary.

The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning emphasizes that all officials and employees are expected to demonstrate good conduct both at work and off duty and urges all its public officials and civil servants to avoid actions that bring reputational damage to the Ministry.
