Monrovia. Liberia - The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning has termed as false and misleading a trending news story published by New Indian Express.com, with the headline” Ethical Hacker Odia Boy earns praise from Liberia Government.
The ministry says at no point in time has the Government of Liberia presented “accolades letter or appreciation of money” as falsely reported by a site known as the New Indian Express.com
The ministry believes that news agencies around the world are guided by the journalism fundamentals of Accurate, Balance and Credible reportage; something which the New Indian Express.com should base their reports on.
The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning urged the public to be sensitive to “Fake news” or information trending on social media platforms in the country.
However, the Ministry clarifies that at no time the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning official website was hacked as claimed by this new agency.
In addition, the Ministry of Finance and Development is warning people or media outlets to desist from creating false and fake stories, because such has the proclivity to undermine efforts being made by the government of Liberia to improve the livelihood of Liberians.
