Monrovia, Liberia - The Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, Hon. Bill McGill Jones, has applauded Muslim staffs of the Ministry for successfully observing a month of fast in obedience to the Islamic faith.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar which is observed by Muslims as a month of fasting. It is one of the five pillars of the Islamic faith.
He congratulated the Muslim staffs for delivering valuable professional services to the Ministry even during the period of their fasting.
Minister McGill Jones on behalf of Finance and Development Planning Minister, Hon. Boima S, Kamara, thanked the Muslim staffs for praying for the Ministry and the country. He also appreciated and lauded the staffs for upholding a culture of unity and religious tolerance at the Ministry which he said is vital in helping the Ministry achieve its statutory mandate.
He also expressed the hope that by next year there will be a more elaborate appreciations of the Muslim staffs at the end of their month of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, on behalf of the Minister of Finance, Hon McGill Jones has announce a day off for all Muslim staffs from work tomorrow, April 10 to enable them observe the Eid Fitri (Islamic celebration of the Ramadan).
The Muslim staff through a representative, Boima Kiazolu expressed enormous joy and gratitude to the Senior Management team and the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning for the unprecedented recognition and support given to them during their holy month of fasting.
