Agriculture, Road and Tourism are potential elements for National Investment across the country, says Hon. Anthony Myers

Monrovia- Liberia - Acting Finance and Development Planning Minister, Hon. Anthony G. Myers says Agriculture, Road and Tourism are potential elements for National Investment across the Country.
Acting Minister Myers made the disclosure when he delivered a ‘ten minutes’ presentation at the ongoing National Investment conference organized by Nova Africa Ventures, and being held at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex Oldest Congo Town in Paynesville.

According to him, private and public sector investors should think about economic specialization of activities that will help boost trade and business. He noted that focusing on key business specialization as an investor will strengthen the economy and bring about national growth and development.

"I am calling on all Private and Public Investors to align Agriculture, Road and Tourism because they are part of the ongoing national development plan for inclusive development’’ Minister Myers stressed.

Minister Myers noted that by doing so, Liberia can become a specialized hub for the neighboring region to trade goods and services.

‘’Developing countries around the world are known for setting economic specialization that keep driving their economies and promoting national investment. For example, Switzerland, when you think about Swiss products you think about quality and durability, thinking about their banking system, you think about trust and confidentiality’’ Minister Myers told stakeholders.

He revealed that investing in infrastructure development like roads will help boost agriculture production, commerce and trade, and enhance skills by creating marketing opportunities for more growth and development across all sectors of the economy.

The Liberian Acting Finance Minister informed stakeholders about the robust measures by the government of Liberia which is aimed at transforming the economy and diversifying other potential elements for national investment. Cooperation and partnership, he pointed out, will lead to better results if investors align their priorities intervention with the ARREST Agenda.

For his part, Gbarpolu County Senator, Hon Amara M. Konneh also highlighted two key attractive opportunities for National Investment to boost Liberia’s growth and development.

According to him, the ARREST agenda needs both Internal and External reform. ‘’As a developing country, we need external support but let us focus on internal reform that will attract the rate at which investors can invest and get returns’’ he said.

Senator Konneh noted that when Internal and External reforms are addressed properly the rate of Inclusive Development will spread across all sectors of the economy and change the narrative.

Hon. Konneh expressed delight about President Boakai's optimism to change the untold story of all Liberians across the country by managing government finance and sound money and creating fiscal predictability.

"’The country's ability to put in place an institutional environment, investment contract is underway, land right is established and property right will lead to substantial growth’’ he added.
